Why coastal coverage is different
A standard homeowners policy on the Coastal Bend usually excludes wind and hail, which moves to TWIA or a private windstorm policy, and never includes flood. Percentage deductibles mean a 2% wind deductible on a $400,000 home is $8,000 out of pocket. Most people find that out after the storm.
